Like many financial questions, this is not necessarily a black and white question. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, the question you need to ask yourself is this:
What problem are you trying to solve?
Brokers are excellent if you are simply looking to invest. They will evaluate your risk tolerance and invest your money accordingly. A financial advisor takes a more holistic approach. They will look at your insurance, emergency funds, 401k, etc and put it all together into one master plan. One is not better or worse than the other, in fact I would suggest to have both! Both are valuable to your financial living.
After all, wealth IS a team sport.
