In the financial world, we talk a lot about assets — stocks, investments, retirement accounts, real estate. All important things.
But lately, I’ve been reminded of a different kind of asset: the people around us.
This weekend, my husband and I went on a walk. Nothing fancy — just a quiet moment outside together. But somehow, that turned into one of those deep conversations about life, purpose, and the goals we’re chasing.
It made me pause and reflect on something I tell my clients all the time:
The reason we plan financially isn’t just to have more — it’s to live more, connect more, and have the freedom to build a life we actually love.
And when you think about it, the people who walk beside you — who push you when you’re stuck, encourage you when you’re tired, and believe in what you’re building — they’re your greatest blessing. Your greatest asset.
Money is a tool.
But the people you build with? That’s the real wealth.
The people you learn from, have community with, are encouraged and pushed by.
So while you’re budgeting, investing, or planning for retirement — don’t forget to plan for what matters most.
Not just the numbers.
But the moments.
And the people who help you grow into the person you’re meant to become.
